  • American University in Washington, D.C, is a Methodist-affiliated private research institute that received its charter in 1893. It has an acceptance rate of 36% and a student enrollment of over 14,000. 
  • Eight schools and colleges (Kogod School of Business, Washington College of Law, School of Education etc.) offer 79 bachelor's, 89 masters and 11 doctoral degrees. Accounting, Business and Entertainment, French Studies, Journalism and Literature are some degree and certificate programs available. 
  • The 90-acre American University campus is situated in Washington's residential district. Course Ranking

AU has established a reputation as one of the premier business institutions in the US. From 2016 to 2020, Bloomberg ranked American University amongst some of the top 100 business schools in the USA. AU's standing has significantly improved, moving up from 91st in 2020 to first in 2021. It has excelled in every category, including pay, networking, learning, and entrepreneurship. From 2018 through 2021, QS (top universities) placed it among the top 150. It was listed by THE (Times Higher Education) at 301-400 in 2020 and 401-500 in 2021. The ranking of AU has fallen in comparison to QS and THE. In a similar vein, US News & World Report's ranking has also fallen, from 79 in 2018 to 99-131 in 2021. I love American University's Facilities, Infrastructure and location. The campus is beautiful and laid out perfectly from the main areas to the back parking lot. The food is great as well. I'm amazed that you can get a good education in such a good environment for such an affordable price!

I went to American University because of its excellent reputation and I have no regrets. The campus is very peaceful and relaxing, it's also a good place for students to practice their English. The accommodation is also nice and affordable, because the university does not charge any extra fees for students living on campus. All in all, American University is a good choice.
