  • Mississippi State University officially called Mississippi State University for Agriculture and Applied Science is a public land-grant research University. It was established in 1878 in the city of Starkville, Mississippi. The university has nine colleges and three schools offering more than 175 graduate, specialized degree programs and baccalaureates.

The Main Campus of the University is spread across 4,200 acres and is home to more than 730 buildings.

English Language Proficiency

In order to register for academic courses at Mississippi State University, international undergraduate students must demonstrate English language fluency. The following demonstration approaches are acceptable:

  • TOEFL exam scores that are acceptable are 525/197/71. (some departments require a higher score)
  • A 6.0 on the IELTS exam is considered satisfactory (some departments require a higher score)
  • A 19 on the ACT's English portion is considered acceptable.

On the Evidence-Based Reading and Writing part of the SAT, a score of 510 is considered acceptable.
For those applicants whose test centres have been closed owing to covid-19 restrictions, the Duolingo English Test (DET) will be temporarily approved on a case-by-case basis. For course placement, further examination through the English Language Institute will be required.

Mississippi State University is an excellent choice for a university. The campus is beautiful and well maintained, the facilities are modern and very comfortable. The accommodation is also very comfortable. I highly recommend it as a wonderful university to study at.

I have come to the conclusion that MSU is a very accommodating environment, with many advantages for one's career. I started my career at MSU in 2015. I was a transfer student, and I have had an amazing experience. It's been a great time for me. Everyone there is very friendly and welcoming to people who come from all over the world. The campus is beautiful, and I enjoy living in it a lot. My favorite subjects are economics, physics, and psychology.
