On-Campus Accommodation

You can meet with your classmates while living on campus in ways that can lead to lifelong connections and memories. From standard double occupancy halls to suites, flats, and townhouses, as you get closer to graduation and the life of a young professional, WNE offers alternatives that change as you advance through your studies. As long as there is space available, graduate, law, pharmacy, or doctoral students may continue to live on campus in Gateway Village Apartments.

1. First-Year students

The University's classic first-year students' residential halls, like "The Quad" (Berkshire, Franklin, and Hampden Halls), or Windham Hall, will be your first on-campus housing experience. Depending on their learning interest community (LIC) or other housing needs and interests, some freshmen may also reside at Commonwealth Hall. Additionally, we provide first-year students with a limited quantity of premium singles on a first-come, first-served basis. The residence halls provided by the university are as follows:

  • Quad Halls

The "Quad" of residence halls comprises Berkshire Hall, Hampden Hall, and Franklin Hall. The quad halls have double occupancy rooms, a shared bathroom on each floor, and a building-wide shared laundry room. Each has a lounge with a TV, a kitchenette, and entertainment options. Tile floors and moveable furnishings are features of university housing. These halls are usually reserved for first-year students. The structures have air conditioning.

  • Windham Hall

For those first-year students who choose to live in three-person groups, Windham Hall also offers a limited number of triple rooms. There is a lounge with a television in the middle of the hallway. A washing facility, a study lounge, and a recreational space are also available in the common areas. Rooms have carpeting and movable furnishings. The structure has air conditioning.

2. Sophomore Year

Sophomores have the option to live in Commonwealth Hall, Evergreen Village, the LaRiviere Center, Gateway Village, or Southwood Hall.

  • Commonwealth Hall

A variety of sophomores, juniors, seniors, and transfer students are housed at Commonwealth Hall. First-year students may choose to reside in a Commonwealth learning interest community. Each corridor has a kitchenette, laundry, and semi-private, individual-use restrooms. Each floor's "core" community centre contains a multipurpose room with a recreation area.

  • LaRiviere Center

For juniors, sophomores, and seniors who choose to reside in suite-style accommodation, LaRiviere Center is an option. A multipurpose lounge, conference room, academic classrooms, and a computer lab make up the building's central portion. Students are housed in four suites—four double rooms—on each coed floor wing, three of which can hold six people, and one may hold eight. There are two private bathrooms in each suite. Each suite contains a "living area" with couches, a table and chairs, built-in cabinets, a full-size refrigerator, and counter space. The inhabitants are in charge of maintaining and caring for the suite. A dedicated study room, extra seating, recreational equipment, and laundry facilities are all part of the floor wing community living space, which all floor wing residents use.

3. Junior & Senior Years

With full kitchens, bedrooms, living rooms, and bathrooms, Gateway Village Apartments, Evergreen Village Townhouses, and Southwood Hall Apartments provide upper-class students with the perfect setting to prepare for life after graduation.

  • Gateway Village

Apartments at Gateway Village provide living quarters for two to six students. Depending on available space, Gateway primarily houses juniors, seniors, and a small number of sophomores. The layouts of Gateway apartments might be efficiency, one bedroom, two bedrooms, or three bedrooms. Each apartment has a furnished living room, a private bathroom, and kitchen appliances. The maintenance and repair of a resident's living space is entirely their responsibility. Gateway Village contains an outdoor entertainment area and a communal laundry room. The property has a section of flats set aside for graduate housing. The apartment buildings in Gateway Village now have air conditioning. Tile floors may be found in every student unit in Gateway Village.

  • Evergreen Village

Students at Evergreen Village can live in two-story townhouse apartments with three bedrooms, double occupancy, and space for six students. Each townhouse apartment in the complex predominantly houses senior citizens and features a living room, kitchen, full bathroom, and half bathroom. The townhouse units include carpeting and tile floors in the kitchen, and the furniture is freestanding. The maintenance and repair of a resident's living space is entirely their responsibility. A multifunctional building at Evergreen Village has a study area, a recreation area, a social area, and laundry facilities. The building has air conditioning.

  • Southwood Hall

The newest addition to our housing options is Southwood Hall. The corridor-style residence hall with apartments for four students is close to the athletic fields. Each apartment has a bathroom, kitchen, living room, and two double or four single occupancy bedrooms. Tile floors and freestanding furniture are features of the units. There is a sizable first-floor lounge, a recreation area, and laundry facilities. Most upper-class (junior and senior) residents live in the hall.

Graduate Housing

Graduate students can take advantage of on-campus living at Western New England University's Gateway Village apartment complex. A one- to a three-person apartment can accommodate different numbers of people. Each occupant of shared living space has a separate bedroom. The appropriate residency charge includes the price of utilities (heat, hot water, and electricity), as well as wireless internet service.

Western New England University is a great school that I have been attending for the past three years. They offer a wide range of undergraduate and graduate programs, as well as online classes. I love their lecturer-student ratio, which allows me to feel like the faculty care about my success. The campus is welcoming, and there are plenty of resources available to students.

I have had an amazing experience. As a undergraduate, I am constantly approached by the financial aid department to help me find funding for my education and they are always happy to help. They go out of their way to make sure that I know about scholarships that are available and even some grants!

I have been attending Western New England University for some time now. I chose it because of its affordability and the opportunities it has to offer. I was nervous about transferring schools, but my fears were soon put to rest. The university is large and diverse, but not too big that you feel lost or stressed out by the sheer magnitude of people.
